Drums & Electronics solo by Brussels-based drummer and producer Antoine Pierre. Antoine Pierre's music has become increasingly electronic, through his bands Urbex (jazz) and Next.Ape (experimental trip-hop). In 2018, he attended Thom Yorke's “Tomorrow's Modern Boxes” concert: a vibrant, organic live performance. This was the spark that drove Antoine to create his own electro project. And thanks to a new sensor technology linking his drums to his computer, he can embark on this new solo adventure. VAAGUE was born in 2020. After two critically acclaimed EPs released on his own Shapes No Frame label in 2021 and 2022, collaborations with Le Motel, Amy Root and Dorian Dumont (ECHT!) and a series of concerts in Belgium and abroad, VAAGUE released its first album in October 2024: Oktopus Mekaniks. Since its creation, VAAGUE has had fun playing with codes, and its 'Reworks' published on its networks are the perfect example: the artist revisits live tracks by key producers (Squarepusher, Luke Vibert, Ivy Lab,...), recreating all the samples. VAAGUE stands out not only for its creative approach, but also for the elegance of Antoine Pierre's musical mastery.
