FREE CONCERT

Besides being a musician, Brussels-based Adja is also a theatre-maker, a combination she brings together in what she herself describes as ‘sophisticated soul in a hybrid concert format’. Specifically, she makes music on the borderline between soul, gospel and jazz, but through various sensory additions such as scent and visuals, the artist wants to give extra strength to the narrative character of her music. In this way, she tries to depict her inner world and the feelings we all experience as expressively as possible.

In 2021, Adja was named one of the laureates of Soundtrack, the music competition of VI.BE and the Club Circuit. Together with her regular arranger, guitarist and life partner Alexis Nootens. It brought her into the spotlight and on 24 February she released her debut EP “IRONEYE” on Sdban Ultra, the Belgian label that has STUFF., John Ghost and TaxiWars, among others, on their roster. Adja is a super talent, a “force of nature” with a stage presence and a warm voice reminiscent of artists like Erykah Badu, Solange and Lianne La Havas. Her honest songs about her path to self-discovery and spirituality are boosted live by a full band with backing vocalists, elevating the whole into a theatrical ceremony of reflection and connection.
